Sorry

I don't know what's up with the video in my last blog.

If this one doesn't work, you'll just have to come see us and watch the live version.

It's official!

My baby is crawling! He's been scooting around really good lately. He'll get on all fours and lunge, sometimes rock back and forth, but nothing definite. Until now:

Sorry I don't know how to turn it. But it's official, now that he's got the hang of it he won't sit still. He's all over the place!

Thank you Grandma Chipman

For Christmas, Grandma Chipman made Jason and Jamie matching blankets. Last night the boys were playing and Jason told me we need a new couch. Thank You!!! I've been trying to convince him of that fact for a while. His reasoning was shaking. He said we need a couch with cushions so Jamie can build forts with them. Not quite what I was thinking but hey I'd get my couch. Anyway, Jason and Jamie were playing and having a ball. Jamie was uncontrollable with giggles the entire time, and Jason seemed to be having just as much fun. They are just too cute together, I couldn't resist sharing.
Jamie and his hero.

The wanna-be fort.

Jason shaved his beard this week. I love it. Jamie - not so much. Jamie keeps looking at him with a weird look on his face. He hears his dad, but just can't seem to find him. Pretty funny, but he's catching on.

So, Jason lost his job two weeks ago. I LOVE having him home. I know I should be worried and frantic for him so get working again, but for now I am enjoying it. We found some tile at DI last week. There was not enough for our kitchen but plenty for our bathroom. When we were loading it into our car, under we tile we found some marble as well, so we'll have to see what we can do with that, the entry maybe? We'll see.
Jamie is growing fast. He has three teeth, two on bottom, one on top. He loves to pull himself onto his knees, maybe he'll just skip crawling. Then again, he can now get on all fours, but he just sits back down or flops his feet out and lies down. He can scoot himself around really good though. He loves to get himself caught under couches and beds.

He'll be nine months next week and has his check up in two weeks. Hopefully his acid reflux will be gone (please, please, PLEASE) , or at least starting to ease. He is not spitting up nearly as much as he used to, but when we're in between medicines he makes a decent mess. The Doctors say at nine months, infant acid reflux is gone, unless of course that infant is Jamie and his case is clearly abnormal. We'll let you know. Hopefully it's starting to ease and can be gone by his birthday. YIPPEE!!!Well, we are doing great. Loving every minute of Jason being home. I am fulling taking advantage of Father and Son time, I get to sneak away by myself for a few hours. But for the most part, we're just hanging out.

TADA!

Well, I finally got our bathroom painted a few weeks ago. I love it. We'll have to wait until Jason goes back to work before we can get more paint to finish it up. We need white for the trim and feather look over the blue. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer. But until then, I am definitely enjoying the new look.

First Words

Jamie is growing too fast. Saturday he had a hard time eating, he just wanted to nurse. Well, obviously I didn't let that happen. I tried feeding him and he'd look over a Jason and cry, "Dada-dada-dada." So I'd scoot his highchair over to Jason and let Jason feed him. Jamie would then look over at me and cry, "Mama-mama-mama." After about 2 or 3 times of this I gave him some crackers and poked in some bites between crackers. It was so cute. He's never put a name to us consistently like that before.

Sunday, after his bath, Jason was getting Jamie dressed. Jamie HATES getting dressed. So, Jason was talking and tickling and keeping him distracted when plain as day, Jamie looked straight at him and said, "Dad." Jason paused, looked at me, then back at the baby and Jamie said it again, "Dad." Jason laughed and got him to say once more.

I have been trying since Jamie could talk to get him to say Mom. But alas, twas not to be. Jason won this time. I'll get the next one.

Sunday, Jamie turned 8 months old. He said his first, clear word, while knowing what it means at 8 months. When Jamie's really upset he sputter, "mmmmmm." Meaning Mom or food? Don't know. We'll see.

Monday, I had to an appointment in Hurricane. We hung out at Mom and Dad's after and had a good time. But on the way home, Jamie was not happy. He started screaming before we even got to State St. I called Jason to let him know we were headed home. After listening to Jamie crying for awhile, Jason told me to put him on speaker. So I held the phone back over the carseat so Jamie could hear. As soon as Jamie heard his Dad's voice he quieted right down and only whimpered now and then while his Dad talked to him. I was ticked! I talk to that child constantly when we drive around town. I talk and he screams louder, but his Dad talks and he quiets right down. We were about half way home when I hung up with Jason. Almost immediately Jamie starts crying again. I tried talking to him, singing to him, being quiet, turned the radio on. Nothing. We were almost home, maybe 5 minutes away. I called Jason back and asked him to talk to Jamie again, expecting nothing but it was worth the try. Jason was doing homework so he just read his homework aloud. Immediately, Jamie was silent and listened to Jason talk the rest of the way home. I thanked my husband and hung up when we arrived home. I walked around and opened Jamie's door and he had the gall to smile at me! I could have screamed myself, the little putz.

So not only does Jamie say "Dad" first but apparently he likes the sound of his voice better as well. Lol.

I am glad that Jamie loves his Dad, being that they don't have much time together.

Happy New Year!

Jamie is eating many more solids and only nurses when he goes to sleep. YAY! Then again I have to clean this up, :(
He eats really good until about the end. He'll start turning his face into his chair, effectively smearing his meal ALL over his head and chair. I have him on the counter next to me while I'm cooking, so he can "help." He gets a hold of my wooden spoons, spatulas, etc. Recently my whisk has become his new best friend. He likes to push the wires together and watch them spring back apart.
Jason and I are doing well. I still enjoy babysitting once a week out in Hurricane, and Jamie gets some time to spend with Grandma and Grandpa Christensen and Aunt Hanna. Jason is still working in Las Vegas. We hope he'll be able to stay on for at least another week or two.
This past weekend we decided to paint the upstairs bathroom. We went on a shopping spree to Home Depot and get everything we needed to do the job. But we ran out of time. So next weekend we'll get this job done and then we'll see about the downstairs bathroom. I have yet to be inspried on the rest of the house, but for now I'm content to start on the bathrooms.
