Brionney was finally able to get tubes in her ears.
Hopefully she'll be happier now, especially when we travel.
We had to be at the hospital at 6: 30 Monday morning. She was not able to eat anything after midnight. She woke at 5 that morning starving. Lucky us, we only had to keep her happy for an hour before heading to the hospital.
Daddy helped her into her hospital gown. She was the first surgery scheduled that morning.
Our nurse was awesome. Brionney didn't mind the heart monitor or blood pressure cuff.
She just played with her toys.
She got restless when we were waiting and Daddy finally got her to sleep- just as the Doctor rounded the corner to take her away.
She woke up when we put her in her bed to be wheeled out. The anesthesiologist picked her up and cuddled her close as they headed off to surgery. Awesome! She wasn't treated as just another body, she was a hungry and scared baby.
It was the longest 15 minutes ever, but she did wonderful.
When the nurse came to get us we heard her screaming as we walked the halls. The nurses had passed her around and gave her a bottle trying to calm her down until she came off the anesthesia and we were able to be with her. They said she took hold of the bottle until she realized it was only water- then it just ticked her off even more. But she did awesome and we were soon able to bring her back home.
She was tired and a bit cranky for the rest of the day but under the circumstances she did awesome.
Poor little girl! She looks so cute in that tiny hospital gown though. It must have been hard for you to sit there while she was having that done, hopefully it makes a big difference for her!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it's over with for you. Hopefully it will make a big difference for her.
