Dr. Appt.

Yesterday Jamie had his 9 month check up. Here's how it went:
-He weights 16 lb. 12.5 oz., 27 in. long. He is in the 3% for his weight, meaning out of 100 boys, 3 are smaller than him. I had to laugh. He was 4% when he was born, went for awhile to about 10-12% and now he's back down to 3%. He's healthy and gaining weight so there is nothing to worry about. I just thought it was funny- my boy is TINY!
- His allergies are flaring up so he's to get .5 tsp Zyrtec in the morning and .5 tsp Benadryl at night. He should start sleeping better and breathing better.
-His skin, mostly his legs, is getting bad once again with eczema. We need to lotion him up really good two or three times a day as well as an oil we got three months ago.
-Acid reflux is still as strong as ever. As long as he is given the medication correctly he is fine. He is given the Axid on an empty stomach, usually two hours after his last meal or when he first awakes in the morning. In exactly 30 minutes, he's given Eryped, and needs to eat a full meal immediately. The Axid is for heartburn. The Eryped is an antibiotic that upsets his stomach so it pushes the food through faster. The longer the food sits in his stomach the more likely it will come back up. Only 10% of infant acid reflux cases do not end at 9 months. Rarely in that 10% does it not go away at all. So hopefully and there is a big chance that this will be over it in 3 more months. But because he still gets sick when we're off on his meds, we are too keep going as we are and at his year check up, then we'll see about reducing his meds. It's not what we wanted to hear, but it could be worse.

Jamie is growing so fast. He just learned to crawl about two weeks ago. He's already pulling himself to his feet. Anything and everything is used to get to his feet. He can't quite get himself back down.

Sorry

I don't know what's up with the video in my last blog.

If this one doesn't work, you'll just have to come see us and watch the live version.

It's official!

My baby is crawling! He's been scooting around really good lately. He'll get on all fours and lunge, sometimes rock back and forth, but nothing definite. Until now:

Sorry I don't know how to turn it. But it's official, now that he's got the hang of it he won't sit still. He's all over the place!

Thank you Grandma Chipman

For Christmas, Grandma Chipman made Jason and Jamie matching blankets. Last night the boys were playing and Jason told me we need a new couch. Thank You!!! I've been trying to convince him of that fact for a while. His reasoning was shaking. He said we need a couch with cushions so Jamie can build forts with them. Not quite what I was thinking but hey I'd get my couch. Anyway, Jason and Jamie were playing and having a ball. Jamie was uncontrollable with giggles the entire time, and Jason seemed to be having just as much fun. They are just too cute together, I couldn't resist sharing.
Jamie and his hero.

The wanna-be fort.

Jason shaved his beard this week. I love it. Jamie - not so much. Jamie keeps looking at him with a weird look on his face. He hears his dad, but just can't seem to find him. Pretty funny, but he's catching on.

So, Jason lost his job two weeks ago. I LOVE having him home. I know I should be worried and frantic for him so get working again, but for now I am enjoying it. We found some tile at DI last week. There was not enough for our kitchen but plenty for our bathroom. When we were loading it into our car, under we tile we found some marble as well, so we'll have to see what we can do with that, the entry maybe? We'll see.
Jamie is growing fast. He has three teeth, two on bottom, one on top. He loves to pull himself onto his knees, maybe he'll just skip crawling. Then again, he can now get on all fours, but he just sits back down or flops his feet out and lies down. He can scoot himself around really good though. He loves to get himself caught under couches and beds.

He'll be nine months next week and has his check up in two weeks. Hopefully his acid reflux will be gone (please, please, PLEASE) , or at least starting to ease. He is not spitting up nearly as much as he used to, but when we're in between medicines he makes a decent mess. The Doctors say at nine months, infant acid reflux is gone, unless of course that infant is Jamie and his case is clearly abnormal. We'll let you know. Hopefully it's starting to ease and can be gone by his birthday. YIPPEE!!!Well, we are doing great. Loving every minute of Jason being home. I am fulling taking advantage of Father and Son time, I get to sneak away by myself for a few hours. But for the most part, we're just hanging out.

TADA!

Well, I finally got our bathroom painted a few weeks ago. I love it. We'll have to wait until Jason goes back to work before we can get more paint to finish it up. We need white for the trim and feather look over the blue. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer. But until then, I am definitely enjoying the new look.
